The owner, the Bonollo, the Di Cosimo and the Ascenzi Families, through their love of the earth and the fruit it bears along with research into finding the right territory chose a place in the Region Orvieto to establish their vineyards. Their passion is reflected in the execellent quality wines that make them ambassador of Umbria.
The Argillae wine estate stretches over an area of about 258 hectares between the hills of Allerona and Ficulle, north-west of the city of Orvieto. 70 hectares of east-west oriented land on sunny hill's is dedicated to the vineyards.
The particular soil composition (calcareous/clayey) the excellent exposure, the special microclimate and a careful selection of the grape (chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon), with a particular regards to the indigenous varieties of the area: grechetto, verdello, drupeggio, procanico and montepulciano, make up a very particular terroir dedicated to produce top quality wines.
The harvest and the pruning are strictly carried out by hand with special regards to the environment during the cultivation of the vineyards, and the cellars are equipped with the most modern equipment.
