Corte dei PapiThe philosophy behind Corte dei Papi , has been to “emphasise the importance of knowledge of terroir, the investment in innovative technology and the building of a workforce which has a rich experience in viticulture and above all an absolute passion for wine making. Corte dei Papi brand encompass Villa Ferrari and Colletonno estates. In 1970, Di Cosimo family acquired Villa Ferrari estate, located in the beautiful hills of Ceprano in the province of Frosinone, Lazio. The villa and 15 hectares of vineyards was originally the farm house of Marchesi Ferrari from Colle Sape. The vineyards are dedicated to white grapes, such as Malvasia Puntinata, Trebbiano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc and indigenous grapes such as Maturano,  Pampanaro and Capolongo. The Colletonno estate is located in Anagni (an ancient small town), in the hills of Rome. It is famous for its connections with the papacy hence Corte dei Papi. In 1980, Di Cosimo family bought this estate originally owned by Apolloni family, one of the richest landowners in Lazio. Of the 20 hectares of vineyards, 90% are Cesanese red grape varieties and 10% with Sangiovese and Merlot. The farmsteas in Colletonno has been reconstructed with the aim of paying the utmost attention to the final stages of wine production. This includes stainless steel temperature controlled fermentation tanks soft pressing system, French oack barrique and Slovonian barrels.

Bianco Lazio “Colle Sape” IGT
History: The grapes are grown near the town of Ceprano, they are submitted to a brief cold maceration process and pressed delicately. Its subsequent fining on lees in stainless steel thermo controlled tanks enhances its organoleptic properties. Bianco Lazio “Colle Sape” IGT
Grape Varieties: Malvasia Puntinata Trebbiano, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Technical Characteristics: Pale yellow colour. Clean and pleasing aromas with hints of citrus fruits, apple, almond and pear. A lingering finish with flavour of apple and almond.
Alcohol Content: 12.5%.
Food Partner: Best matched with crustaceous, fish dishes and soft cheeses.
Cesanese del Piglio "San Magno" DOC
History: Cesanese del Piglio is produced in the communal territories of Piglio, Anagni, Serrone, Acuto and Paliano. Italy’s National Committee for the Protection of Wine has recently approved Lazio’s first DOCG which requires 18 months aging before release. Cesanese del Piglio "San Magno" DOC
Grape Varieties: 85%Cesanese di Affile and 15% Cesanese Comune.
Technical Characteristics: Brilliant ruby red colour. The aroma is intense, clean and pleasing with hints of cherry, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and plum. A good body and lingering finish of cherry and raspberry.
Alcohol Content: 14%.
Food Partner: Best matched with game, pasta with meat sauce and mature cheeses.
